Licensed Professional Counselor

Afia is a licensed LPC clinician. She earned her Bachelor’s at the University of Connecticut in Psychology then later transitioned to Central Connecticut State University, where she earned her Master’s in Psychology with a dual focus in counseling. She has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. As a woman of color with a bicultural identity, she is a strong believer in social justice and inclusive practices. She welcomes the opportunity to learn from clients and has worked with a multitude of individuals from different racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Her goal is to offer mothers an empathetic, non judgmental, yet validating space where they can be open, emotional, honest, vulnerable, process and confront their problems, while developing life long skills beyond the therapeutic setting.
